Original OBW BU Bank Wrapped Roll 1985 Mo Mexico 1 Onza Libertads – Twenty (20) 1 Troy Oz. 999 Fine Silver Uncirculated BU Coins. Original and unopened Banco de Mexico OBW BU Roll of 1985 Mo Mexico Onzas Libertads. Twenty (20) 1 oz. 999 Fine Silver Uncirculated Coins BU. When we use these terms, we do so very carefully and conservatively. We look for any/all signs of originality (or not). Absent of any “red flags”, we can assume said item is more likely than not to be original, but we can never be certain. We do not lable rolls, open or unopened as “Gem BU”. Labeling the entire roll Gem BU implies all coiusn would grade the 5th degree or higher which is blatantly false and pretty near impossible to have happen. We do not label rolls “Choice to Gem BU” as this implies every coin will gharde a minimum of the 3rd degree or higehr. With all these listings advertising Gem BU or Choice to Gem BU, why bother having the 1st 2nd or 3rd degree on the Uncirculated scale since no coins ever seem to grade that low. The reality and wake up call is, MOST coins grade actually in that range. That’s why the adjective CHOICE (meaning, one chosen from many for it’s above average qualities), and GEM (rare – 1 in 20 or more earn this level if quality) are used on superior, top end coins… Not the whole roll… Especially an unopened roll where 18 coins havent been seen at all, and the 2 that can be seen are just one side. Coins grade by their weakest side so even seeing end of roll coins tells you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the grade of the coin. As we have not seen the coins inside the roll, we have no way to know of their quality, patina, strike, etc. We do not label rolls as neither Choice BU, nor Gem BU. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying, or they are lying about the roll being an original, unopened roll. Those are the only 2 possibilities. Anything else is purely impossible. If you have any questions, please let me know. No return on bullion, 90% junk silver, rounds. Bars, rolls or any items whose value is directly tied to its intrinsic value and tied to the volatile precious metals markets.
